Refund & Cancellation Policy — Private Customers
At Angkor Gemstone, we stand behind every natural ruby, sapphire, and Cambodian blue zircon we sell. Our refund and cancellation policy is designed to give you complete confidence when purchasing loose gemstones online, by phone, or in person at our showroom.

Cancellation Before Shipping or Pickup — 100% Refund
You may cancel your order at any time before we hand your order to the shipping company or before you pick up the stones in our showroom.
If you have already paid, you will receive a 100% refund with no deductions, no questions asked. Refunds are processed to your original payment method within 7 business days.
This applies to all orders regardless of payment method: credit card, bank transfer, PayPal, or cash.
Return After Shipping — 14-Day Return Window
Once your order has been shipped, you have 14 additional days from the date of delivery to cancel your order and request a return. This aligns with the EU Consumer Rights Directive and exceeds minimum requirements in most other jurisdictions.
To complete a return after shipping:
- Contact us at [email] within 14 days of delivery to initiate your return.
- Ship the gemstone back using a trackable, insured shipping method. You are responsible for the return shipping cost.
- The return shipping address is the closest GIA laboratory for you. (we will send you exact address and shipping instruction in email)
- The gemstone will be sent to GIA for a recheck report to verify it is the original, unaltered stone. You are responsible for the GIA recheck report cost.
- Once GIA confirms the stone matches the original certificate and shows no damage or alteration, they are sending the gemstone to our office. The cost of the shipping paid by you.
- If everything is in order, we will refund your original payment amount MINUS the original outbound shipping cost within 1 business day of the stone arriving back at our office.
Important conditions:
- The gemstone must be returned in its original condition with all original packaging, certificates, and documentation.
- Any damage, alteration, resizing, engraving, or substitution will void the refund.
- The GIA recheck report is mandatory for all post-shipping returns. This protects both you and Angkor Gemstone against fraud and ensures authenticity.
- Custom-cut or specially ordered stones may not be eligible for return after shipping. Please confirm before ordering.
Personal Pickup — 30-Day Hold & Free Cancellation
If you choose to order by personal pickup from our showroom, you have 30 days from the order date to collect your stones.
During this 30-day holding period:
- You may cancel your order at any time free of charge — no cancellation fees, no deductions.
- Your stones are securely stored and reserved for you.
- You may inspect the stones in person before finalizing your purchase.
- Once you have picked up the stones and the transaction is complete, cancellation is no longer available.
Defective or Non-Conforming Gemstones
Under EU law and our own quality standards, you are protected by a 2-year conformity guarantee. If your gemstone has a manufacturing defect, does not match the description or certificate, or cannot be used for its intended purpose, you are entitled to:
- Free repair (if applicable)
- Replacement with an equivalent stone of equal or greater value
- Partial discount (if you choose to keep the stone)
- Full refund including original shipping costs
This guarantee is separate from and in addition to any commercial warranty. It does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, abuse, misuse, or improper storage. So if you crash the stone we will not replace it.

Refund & Cancellation Policy — Business Customers
Business orders (B2B) are processed under different terms than private consumer orders. These terms reflect the additional costs, customs procedures, and logistics involved in wholesale and commercial gemstone transactions.
Cancellation Before Order Processing — Full Refund
You may cancel your business order at any time before we begin processing it for you. If you have already paid, you will receive a full refund with no deductions. Processing begins when we start customs documentation, packaging for bulk shipment, or GIA batch certification.
Cancellation After Customs & Taxes Paid
If we have already paid customs duties and import taxes on your behalf, or if we have already paid the shipping company for your order, your refund will be calculated as follows:
Refund Amount = Original Paid Amount — Customs & Taxes Paid — Shipping Cost Paid
Example calculation:
Original order total: $5,000
Customs & taxes paid by Angkor Gemstone: $500
Shipping cost paid: $180
Your refund: $5,000 — $500 — $180 = $4,320
Important notes for business customers:
- All deductions are based on actual costs incurred by Angkor Gemstone on your behalf, supported by official receipts and documentation.
- Customs duties and taxes are non-refundable by government authorities once paid. These costs cannot be recovered by Angkor Gemstone.
- If only partial customs/taxes have been paid, only the paid portion will be deducted.
- Business orders are not covered by the 14-day consumer withdrawal period. These terms apply instead.
For large wholesale orders, a cancellation fee schedule may apply based on order value. Please request our B2B terms sheet for orders over $10,000.
Return of Defective or Misdescribed Business Orders
If a business order contains gemstones that are defective, significantly different from the agreed specification, or not as certified, Angkor Gemstone will:
- Accept return of the affected items at our expense
- Provide replacement stones matching the original order specifications
- Or offer a partial or full refund, including recovery of customs and shipping costs where possible
Claims must be submitted within 14 days of delivery with photographic evidence and the original GIA certificate. Angkor Gemstone reserves the right to verify claims through independent GIA recheck.
